چکیده

Chlorides of NH₄Cl and SrCl₂ and fluorides of AlF₃ and SrF₂ were added to raw materials acting as the flux for preparing the SrSi₂O₂N₂:Eu2+ phosphor. The effects of the fluxes on the phase formation, particle morphology, particle size, and photoluminescence properties were investigated. The results revealed that particle size, particle morphology and photoluminescence intensity were largely dominated by the type of the flux material and its adding amount. The chloride-based flux was found to favor the formation of the SrSi₂O₂N₂:Eu2+ phase. Among the chloride-based fluxes, the sample added with the SrCl₂ flux presented the narrow particle distribution and cleaner surface, with enhanced emission intensity and an increased external quantum efficiency by 68% and 22%, respectively, compared with those of the sample without any flux adding.

Synthesis and luminescence properties of a blue-emitting Sr3.5Y6.5O2(PO4)1.5SiO4(4.5) :Eu2+ phosphor.

A novel blue-emitting Sr3.5Y6.5O2(PO4)1.5SiO4(4.5) :Eu2+ phosphor was synthesized via a solid-state reaction. Powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis demonstrated that the Sr3.5Y6.5O2(PO4)1.5(SiO4)4.5 host had a hexagonal crystal structure in the space group P6(3) /m and unit cell parameters a = 9.418 Å, c = 6.900 Å. The as-prepared phosphor showed a blue emission and all the main emission peak...

Measurement and numerical studies of optical properties of YAG:Ce phosphor for white light-emitting diode packaging.

The optical properties of YAG:Ce phosphor were measured by a double-integrating-sphere system and calculated by Mie theory and Monte Carlo ray tracing to provide precise optical characterizations of YAG:Ce phosphor for white light-emitting diode (LED) packaging design. Measurement results showed that the phosphor presents strong absorption for blue light, high reflection for yellow light, and a...

Effect of LiCl on the Microstructure and Luminescence Properties of YVO4:Eu3+ and YBO3:Eu3+ Phosphors

In this investigation, Eu3+ doped YVO4 /YBO3 phosphors were synthesized individually by conventional solid state method at 1100 °C under atmosphere condition. Meanwhile, different amounts of LiClwere used as the flux compound to modify the morphology of the phosphor particles and also final luminescence properties. It was concluded that even small amounts of fluxes play a vital role in the grow...

Synthesis of Green-Emitting (La,Gd)OBr:Tb3+ Phosphors

Green-emitting phosphors based on lanthanum-gadolinium oxybromide were synthesized in a single phase form by the conventional solid state reaction method, and photoluminescence properties of them were characterized. The excitation peak wavelength of (La1-xGdx)OBr:Tb 3+ shifted to the shorter wavelength side with the increase in the crystal field around the Tb 3+ ions by doping Gd 3+ ions into t...

Study on Scattering and Absorption Properties of Quantum-Dot-Converted Elements for Light-Emitting Diodes Using Finite-Difference Time-Domain Method

CdSe/ZnS quantum-dot-converted elements (QDCEs) are good candidates for substituting rare-earth phosphor-converted elements (PCEs) in white light-emitting diodes (LEDs); however, studies on their scattering and absorption properties are scarce, suppressing further increment in the optical and thermal performance of quantum-dot-converted LEDs. Therefore, we introduce the finite-difference time-d...
